So, it doesn't take much to spark my imagination. I was browsing the Drowtales [link] forum, and I saw someone mention "your Drowtales self." So...I had just had to give it a whirl and pull a character I really liked from the canon. I'm a big fan of the comic and its art, anyway, so it was fun. :3
For those of you familiar with the comic, this character is NOT Kyorl'solenurn. She's a Dutan'vir leftover. Nothing like a Val, to be sure...I believe she was either the servant or well-treated slave of a mage, an illusion specialist. Freed before his death, in any case. An illusionist in her own right, now, initially learned from him.
Also, she's not supposed to look like Ky'ovarde, either. (That sociopath-esque Kyorl'solenurn warden.) She only appeared in a handful of comics, and I just forgot about her. It made me very grumbly when I realized that what I thought was a unique haircolour combination was in fact present in the main manga. Granted, Ky'ovarde's is tipped black and streaked, while mine's tipped dark grey and not streaked, it's still too close for comfort. Oh, well. I like it too much to change it.
Ref used. The face was almost entirely changed, but the cloth help was invaluable: [link]
Beautiful, I love how you did the cloth and its gold accents. The ear seems a little odd to me, but that might just be because it's done in a way I'm not accustomed to.
Heehee...actually, the lengthy, downturned ears on the drowtales comic made me do backflips the first time I saw them, since I've been drawing very long ears for years! I'm just glad another artist agrees. XD I altered these just a little bit to fit more with the comic's style.
The holes in the ears...I dunno. I dunno wanted I started drawing those on my elves, but I strongly suspect that the scientific explanation is "because it looks cool."
Thanks so much! The lips were my special focus this time through, like the fur was on the last piece. Something I historically have trouble with that I'm trying to learn to do well...I'm glad it showed!

The butter legion- a socialist movement/mass colab project I started, to trigger artistic change and evolution in Da artists (mainly my watchers), to make them more active and dedicated on DA. Now 170 people strong and growing... A "dangerous cult"? a "new religion"? "artistic version of fight club" or "communist movement"? You decide!
